Feminism isn’t just a women’s issue—it affects us all. Men, in particular, have a crucial role to play when it comes to challenging entrenched gender roles and advancing true equality. Because as long as power, visibility, and opportunities remain unevenly distributed, feminism remains a shared responsibility.

The artist Katharina Cibulka is known for her bold, large-scale approach to socio-political issues. Through her feminist-activist art project SOLANGE, she has been drawing attention to social inequalities around the world for the past seven years. Her highly visible, massive cross-stitch installations—created on scaffolding netting—convey powerful messages that unsettle, move, and inspire reflection. Cibulka brings key socio-political issues out of the shadows and into the heart of public space, reigniting discussions about equality.

As an artist, filmmaker, and, more recently, set designer, Cibulka works on projects ranging from global to local. Her goal remains clear: to shed light on social structures, open up spaces for reflection, and ask how much longer it will take before equality is taken for granted.

The Visual Talk at FÖN offers insights into her motivation and the impact of SOLANGE—and invites us to think of feminism as a shared endeavor.

People of all genders are welcome!
